Cyanotype
Invented around 1850, the blueprint or ferroprussiate process is
quite stable and long-lasting. When Curtis was away from the studio
he used this process to create field prints. It was very convenient
for this purpose because it did not require a darkroom. Many of
Curtis' cyanotypes have a number and notes written on the reverse
side.
